Blessed Beginnings Birth Services
Serving Northwest Indiana, West Lafayette, and Lafayette Indiana.
God designed women to birth the babies that grow in their womb. Women were meant to birth their babies, not have them cut out or pulled out. Though there are a few exceptions to this, there are way too many c-sections (statistics say 25%+) and women are left believing they couldn't birth their own baby. Let me help you believe in God's design.
Our society has been filled with fear of our bodies and the birth process.
Women often hear fearful stories about childbirth. Learn to fight those fears with education and FACT... that birth is safe, interventions are risky!
You can birth your baby!
The World Health Organization (WHO) states that the midwife is the most appropriate and cost-effective healthcare provider to be assigned to the care of women during normal pregnancy and normal birth, including risk assessment and the recognition of complications (WHO, 1996).
Photos on this site are my personal photo's of my youngest son Jesse James, and myself. Photo's were taken by Robin Joyce of Creating Birth Memories Photography. I highly recommend her!
Who can home birth?
You can have a home birth if:
You are willing to be educated, and take responsibility for your pregnancy and birth.
You are having a healthy, low-risk pregnancy
You want to avoid episiotomy, cesarean section, epidural and other interventions
You want to be surrounded by family and friends
You want to be free to move around, change positions, take a shower, and eat or drink freely during labor
You want to enjoy the comforts of home and familiar surroundings
You trust that your body knows what to do. You trust birth.
Home birth is NOT for you if:
You are diabetic, on insulin.
You have chronic high blood pressure, and are on medication.
There are a few other medical conditions which would "risk you out" for a home birth.
Your partner does not fully support your decision to give birth at home
You are not willing to be educated, eat properly, and take responsibility for your pregnancy and birth.
You do not trust that your body knows what to do. You do not trust birth.
You "need" drugs for pain relief.
